Mexico D1 Scores
|
Think the scores for Verstappen, Vettel and Ricciardo are wrong for Mexico.
BEFORE the Verstappen time penalty, he was 3rd, so he should be 31 (8 quali + 23 race). Vettel should be 26 (4+22), and Ricciardo should be 33 (7+21+5 fastest lap).
Correct me if I'm wrong!

I don't think a screenshot is really needed. I saw the race. Verstappen crossed the line third, then was demoted after the race. I'm raising it because I think the treatment isn't consistent with any other race I've seen with a time penalty, and I know if I was losing out on something due to it, I'd be pretty pissed off, especially when so far into something like the Eliminator competition.
I can't think of a single example of a penalty after the flag being applied to points here. Happy to be proved wrong.

I can't recall a race where scoring here has taken into account penalties after the race finishes. This one did come particularly soon after the flag, but it was after.
Best example I remember is Silverstone this year.
You gave Rosberg 38 points (9 quali, 24 race, 5 fastest lap). HOWEVER, the official standings in the race had Rosberg 3rd due to a time penalty after the race, which would have driven a score of 37. You went with the pre-penalty standings. You even mentioned that changes after the race don't influence race results on the site.
The right, consistent way to score this one should be Verstappen 31, Vettel 26, Ricciardo 33, then the chassis and engine accordingly.

I always have used the first published provisional results. And it is not the first time that there is included a 5 second penality.

Your normal rules was to take positions pre-time penalties. I don't like raising this, as it hurts my points slightly, but in past races, that's the way you've done it. Vettel finished 4th and made the podium due to a penalty applied after the chequered flag.

No, the scores are correct.
The published provisional results came along with:
3. Sebastian Vettel 4. Daniel Ricciardo 5. Max Verstappen
Vettel was also on the Podium.
I always take the provisional results which are published after the race.
